The PSP re-release of Final Fantasy Tactics was mostly just the PS1 game’s graphics. The one big addition the port got was animated cutscenes drawn in a style that fit the game’s theme. That is what this game and its predecessor, Octopath Traveler, lacked. The in-game animations are fine but they still look goofy. Square Enix definitely has the budget for cutscenes since this style is trying to harken back to the PS1 days alre
The XCom SLG console Games are famous for their engaging squad-based combat. The games have always featured a large collection of alien types – each with an ability that players must keep in mind if they want all of their soldiers to make it back to base in one piece. Some of these aliens can fly, some are advanced robotic killing machines, some are basically living tanks, but the deadliest of them have psionic abilities that are frustrating at best – and absolutely devastating at worst. These are the most difficult alien types a player can expect when playing the X-Com titles; minus the unique types like the Uber Ethereal or Warlo
The Mutons are some of the most difficult enemies to defeat in every XCom game. Muton Elites are enhanced to make them even more formidable. They have some of the heaviest armor in the game, and a very high health rating. Muton Elites are armed with heavy plasma cannons; which can kill even a heavily armored soldier with one shot. Elites are also armed with explosive grenades which can negate the cover the player’s soldiers are using. They also have a suppression ability which can gives them an attack of opportunity during the player’s turn. Sometimes it seems like Muton Elites are invulnerable; which not only affects the morale of the player’s soldiers, but the morale of the pla
Now, this might be because the original Nintendo Switch hardware is struggling to keep up with development in its fifth year. Either way the frequent use of loads and the time itself adds up into annoyances however small they may
There is some town exploration in the demo. However, it is truncated. Most of the time it seems players will click on a map icon in order to in initiate a battle, or a cutscene. In-between some battles or story beats intel can be gathered but these exploration moments are very brief. This lack of full exploration is common for tactical RPGs so it understandable why the full game would not add this feat
Of course, it would be impossible to talk about Nintendo Switch games in the same vein as Project Triangle Strategy without mentioning the masterpiece that is Octopath Traveler . The 2.5D art style is one of the major draws of the game, making for a unique experience that is bound to satiate any fan of old-school JR
Insane enemies will run around the battlefield and panic, preventing them from developing strategies to take you down. They can fire at their own allies, duck into cover and cower in fear, or even become mind-controlled for a few turns. Thanks to its large area, Void Rift remains one of the best crowd control and damage abilities in XC
Their power only continues as you get into their special equipment . Claymores are also at their disposal to take out cover and weaker enemies, while their Banish ability allows them to empty their entire magazine into an enemy. There is virtually no reason to not have a Reaper in your party, as they do everything a Sniper does with significantly more power in their unique activated abilit
One of the first characters players will earn in War of the Chosen, Reapers are a stealth variant of Sharpshooters that are focused on dealing large amounts of damage from the shadows. More than that, their unique stealth mechanic allows them to sneak through groups of enemies with ease, lining up the perfect shot from a great vantage po
The final nail in the coffin for story upgrades that this game needs is a better balancing act. One would think Square Enix would be more interested in showing off its gameplay rather than its text for a demo. It seems someone was thinking the opposite because the few battles in here are about an hour apart each. Hopefully the final game won’t burden players so much with too much story all at o
If you’re playing XCom 2 , and you encounter a human-looking enemy that has white hair and a purple visor that covers the entire face, have all your soldiers target that enemy. That is probably the only chance of successfully completing that mission. That type of enemy is called an Avatar, and thankfully they are rare. They have extremely high mobility, armor, and damage potential. To make matters worse, Avatars have powerful psionic abilities as well. Many aliens can mind control the player’s soldiers; Avatars can mind control up to three at one time. This enemy can kill a well-equipped squad by itself if it’s not dealt with quic
_XCOM 2 _ can be an extremely challenging game, and playing on Ironman can sometimes feel like a daunting experience. Unlike the normal modes, Ironman does not allow players to load previous saves. All progress is kept on a single save that updates constantly, making every action and consequence permane
