This attack is pretty easy to avoid by dodging around to his side and making sure you aren't in front of him.
The Yellow Wind Sage's most frustrating attack during this phase begins with him running at you and performing a quick kick. If you don't dodge the kick he'll launch you into the air and begin a lengthy and unavoidable combo attack that will usually drain most of your health , if not all of it.
